Disturbing Title in Huffington Post about Children and the Cause for Eating Disorders

There are two titles to the same article related to eating disorders in children posted on 8/2/11 at 08:29 AM ET in Huffington Post.

The first Article Title, “Why Do Our Little Girls Want To Be Sexy?” is without content, but the above picture of a little girl wearing a bikini appears on the Healthy Living front page of the Huffington Post. (Update 20/01/2021; the first article and image are removed from the Huffington Post website).

The second title, “Sexualization of Young Children Linked to Eating Disorder Development”, is above the full content of the article in Huffington Post.

Suggestive questions, like “Why Do Our Little Girls Want To Be Sexy?” have the means to create public opinion that children are affected with eating disorders entirely or in part by the intention to be sexy.

There is a lot wrong with this title, the article, and the human understanding of the cause and solution for eating disorders and obesity.

The little girls, or better to say young children, don’t even think about being sexy. They want to be beautiful. There is nothing wrong with them. The young and the old do care about their own outward appearance.

It is wrong that some adults do see a child as “sexy”!

Children affected with eating disorders feel guilty about that, and accusing them that their condition is caused partly or entirely because they want to be sexy is wrong beyond words and, at the same time, is a terrible thing to say.

People involved in the eating disorder industry and people involved in the weight loss industry should confront a few facts, and one of them is that obesity in children is a new phenomenon, unknown to any previous generation in recorded human history, and it is normal that children are afraid of obesity.

Another fact is that the entire science of weight gain and weight loss is created without knowing that some amount of the energy in food intake the human body excretes as metabolic waste. Namely, in the span of more than one hundred years (until 2003) established obesity, scientists didn’t know that human faeces contains calories.

The worst is that many obesity scientists and the rest of the population involved in the research, prevention and treatment of obesity recently realised that some calories in food intake will be excreted as metabolic waste, and they started to pretend that they already knew that fact along with removing from the internet their “scientific” work, and some of them inventing new theories like “some Gut bacteria extract more energy from the food, the Carbohydrate-Insulin Model of obesity, etc. making eating disorder situation worse.

(Carbohydrate-Insulin Model of obesity is solely the cause of Diabulimia. Before the Carbohydrate-Insulin Model of obesity, Diabulimia was nonexistent)

These theories were made in a hurry, and the only purpose was to put a smoke screen on the fact that until 2003 obesity scientists didn’t know that human faeces contains calories. Even today, the term metabolic waste is unknown in the scientific literature related to obesity.

1. The fact that for the first time in history, obesity affects children.

2. Despite the fact from real life, adults involved in the research, prevention and treatment of obesity and eating disorders believe that they know what causes and what cures obesity, which makes every obese child feel guilty. On the one hand, children suffer from obesity; on the other, they feel guilty, and many are affected with an overdeveloped sense of shame.

3. Adults (medical and other obesity researchers) couldn’t know what causes obesity because they didn’t know that metabolic waste (faeces, urine, sweat, breath, etc) contains calories.

4. Obesity experts, including the rest of the people involved in the research, prevention and treatment of obesity and eating disorders, didn’t know that the human body excretes calories, and because of that, children (and the majority of the adult population) still think that every single calorie in food intake, if not spent, will end up as fat mass.

The obesity and eating disorders in children are not the fault of the children, but it is the sole fault of scientists and the rest of the people involved in academics, commercial or voluntary research related to the prevention and treatment of obesity and eating disorders.

Fear from obesity on the one side, and the fact that nothing works to cure obesity is responsible for eating disorders in children, and it is also responsible for eating disorders among adults.

The academics and university professors involved in obesity research should explain to children that they were wrong in understanding what causes and cures obesity.

It is impossible to solve eating disorder problems by pretending that everything is fine with their understanding of obesity.

The problem is that adults involved in the research, prevention and treatment of obesity are not affected by obesity, and they have more interest in defending their scientific integrity and the scientific integrity of more or less reputable scientific institutions than in solving the problem of obesity in children because when people knew what causes and what cures obesity, it will be obvious that scientists didn’t know that some amount of the energy in food intake human body excretes as metabolic waste.

The disappearance of eating disorders will cause the disappearance of the eating disorder industry.

It is known that adults don’t have the ability to think about other people’s children when their existence is endangered.

P. .S. If anyone thinks that something is not true in the article above, please let me know by posting a comment. Especially if you think that obesity scientists and particularly scientists involved in genetics research of obesity knew that the human body excretes calories before I published the article about calories and the First Law of Thermodynamics”(2003), please let me know, and it will be great if you can provide evidence.
